    Workshop on European Identity Communiversity

    in General Discussion

On 29 April 2022 the Communiversity in Coolock considered whether a European identity was possible or even if it was needed. This workshop followed on from the previous week when Paul Ginnel from the Irish Anti-Poverty Network had the participants think about the values of equality, dignity, respect and inclusion that under pin the mission of the EU. These values were seen as being important as informing a core identity. The benefits of being a member of the EU were brought to the fore and things such as Freedom of Movement allowed for greater inter cultural understanding. While the regional re-distribution of structural funds was seen as a way to raise the living standards across the community.
